Demolition Company History
In 1995, Roger Lisy and Brian Duddy founded Break Thru Enterprises. Their humble demolition company beginnings started out by running their business out of a small house in West Chicago. They envisioned a better way to deliver demolition services to the Chicagoland Area. Their vision was to provide demolition services based on fair practices, safe working conditions, efficient service and personal attention. At the time, they had over 20 combined years of experience in demolition estimating, planning and site management.
Their hands-on experience taught them how to manage a demolition project from beginning to end and how to do it safely and within budget. While holding on to these core values Break Thru quickly grew. In 1996, Break Thru moved out of their office in West Chicago to more than double their square footage in Elmhurst.
Continued Success
Within the first few years, Break Thru concentrated on interior demolition and was assigned projects at some of the most prestigious buildings in Chicago. During these years Break Thru started to establish itself as a trusted and common name for demolition within the Chicago construction industry. A few examples of early flagship projects for Break Thru were the massive renovations at the Black Stone Hotel, Palmer House Hotel, and the Oriental Theater.
In 2002, Break Thru started its Total Demolition Division. With this strategic step, Break Thru Demolition Company became a turn-key solution for all demolition needs. A couple early flagship projects in this division were the Melrose Park Corporate Center (2-story masonry office building and 130,000 square foot warehouse) and the Cicero Corporate Center (100,000 square foot 1930’s warehouse). With the success of the new division and the continued success of the interior division, in 2010, Break Thru moved from its Elmhurst office to their current location in Lombard, quadrupling their office space.
Break Thru’s continued success can be attributed to the core values that Roger and Brian started their demolition company on. Break Thru continues to provide fair practices, safe working conditions, efficient service and personal attention. Based on these values, Break Thru has been awarded and successfully completed some of the most complex projects put out to bid. With this, Break Thru has grown to be one of the most successful and trusted demolition companies in the Chicago area.
