Indoor Demolition of Office & Mezzanine in Joliet
This project posed a few challenges, one being a tight schedule. Our crew took these challenges head on and was able to bring this project in on time and in budget.
Challenges and Fun Facts:
- Main challenge of this indoor demolition project was getting the debris out of the space. The only access to this office area were single man doors. With some creative thinking our Foreman game planned creating a opening in the dividing wall between the warehouse and the office space. In addition, flagged off a stairwell to utilize a garbage chute.
- The other challenge we faced was the main electrical room was located under the mezzanine that was to be removed. Our crew had to come up with a game plan to remove the overhead deck structure and steel beams without disrupting the equipment and gear in the room below.
- All our skid-steers have clean Tier-4 engines. This maintained clean air for crews and building occupants working inside the building. Tier-4 engines also eliminates the lingering smell of diesel exhaust fumes during operation and after work was complete.
